Break in the Weather

It has been raining for the past few days here in Encinitas but today there was break in the weather so Casey and I rushed out to enjoy some playground time before the rain returned....and return it did right on us. Casey didn't seem to mind but we raced home anyway to keep from getting soaked.

A friend of mine is a professional photographer in Austin, Texas. Last month she came to town to shoot a wedding and I was lucky enough to have her take some pictures of Casey while she was here. Here are just a few of my favorites:

Along came a Spider

When Casey was born a friend of ours passed down some hand-me-down toys and books. One of the toys was a remote controlled spider which up until just lately Paul and Cheyne used to terrorize Riley however now it has become Casey's obsession. She loves and hates it...or rather is terrified of it. She has figured out how to push the buttons and make it move however if it gets to close she screams and tries to get away but she doesn't let go of the buttons creating quite a scene but she goes right back to it after we rescue her. This makes Paul think that she likes being scared and she will take after him on his love for scary movies...we will see.

10 months and no signs of slowing down.

Somebody was in a hurry to turn 10 months old, she was up at 4:30am this morning. Actually I realized yesterday that she is once again teething tooth, #7 on the bottom is just about to poke through. She is getting so many teeth so fast it just shows me how quickly she is growing up. This month Casey has discovered lots of sounds and learned to be very loud. She now says dada, papa, baba, yaya, nana however much to my dismay no mama...well not really she taunts me by almost saying it however she says it while sticking her tongue out so it sounds more like nana. She is also moving around quite quickly getting into anything and everything she is not suppose to. She just waits for me to leave a door or gate open and she bee lines right for it...scary, she has learned to climb stairs...even scarier. She has lots of personality and she loves interacting with everyone...and probably my favorite development this month is she now gives kisses which melt my heart, I love this girl!
Happy 10 months my little 18 pounds 6 ounces of fury, I really hope you sleep better tonight.
