3 Months Old...Where Does the Time Go?

Yesterday Casey turned 3 months old, I can't believe how the time has flown by. She is now 13 pounds and has now out grown all of her 3 month clothes. She constantly gets more and more active and we are seeing lots of her big gummy smiles...and they are definitely not just gas anymore, although she still has plenty of that. Casey loves it when we talk and sing to her, I think she is the only one in the whole world that likes to hear me sing. She also loves getting her diaper changed...I think she just likes being naked.

For our family March is the start of softball season and we spend our weekends at the softball fields...this will become Casey 's 2nd home for the next few months. We spent most of the day yesterday down at the fields and she already seems to fit right in:)

After our day outside she got to spend some quality couch time with daddy and she showed him how much she loves him by saying daddy...well not really, she actually made the sound "ada" but he thinks that is close enough to count and he has been calling himself that ever since.

All the Sunday fun wore my little munchkin out and I thought this was a great picture to show just how big she getting. Happy 3 months big girl!

Sophie the Giraffe

Up until a few days ago I had never heard of Sophie the Giraffe, then a friend of mine posted a message about how much her daughter loved this teething toy on her facebook page. I asked a few other friends if they heard of this toy and they all said this was a must have for your baby so naturally I purchased one right away. As of right now the verdict is still out on whether or not Casey likes Sophie but I think she might, in fact this is the only toy she is actually trying to grab and hold. Why, I am not so sure but it sure is cute.

Casey Rolled Over!

This week Casey did her first tummy to back roll over. I had her on the couch with me doing some tummy time and she decided she wanted to be on her back kicking so she managed to get her arm underneath her and then over she went.

I don't think she quite knows how she did it because she hasn't been able to figure it out since. We tried again the next morning and I could tell she was trying but she couldn't get her arm underneath her again. That is fine by me because I don't think I am ready for her to be mobile just yet.

Playing During a Playdate...Kind of

Yesterday we had a long overdue playdate with Cory and Nina. These are my dear friend Elizabeth's children. Elizabeth and I have been friends since we were five so I am so happy our kids that are so close in age, it is going to be so much fun to see them grow up together just like Liz and I did.

Casey was very awake for this playdate and while not as mobile as 6 month old Nina, she had a great time laying on the ground kicking. Nina on the other hand crawled and rolled around the floor and made lots of attempts to get to Casey, she really wants her friend to play with her...be patient little Nina, Casey will be ready to interact with you very soon.

Two year old Cory was very sweet, he was very gentle with Casey and had fun talking to her and showing her his toys.

Happy Birthday Dinner

Last Saturday we went out to dinner to celebrate Cheyne and Drew's birthdays...they are born on the same day 4 years apart.

This was our first time out to dinner with Casey and we found out the trick to going out to dinner with a baby...make sure you go with plenty of people that want to hold her. We also learned that Casey does not like cold milk, her bottle must be the right temperature or she doesn't want it.
She is definitely a girl that knows what she wants, I think she gets that from her sister.

Casey's Best Buddy

Yesterday Casey had another playdate with her best buddy Mady. Although they aren't quite playing yet it is really great to get together with my friend Jenelle and compare stories about our two girls. With Casey and Mady being only 9 days apart in age it is great to see them experiencing all the same milestones together. However, I am so excited for the day when our playdate includes some actual playing...I have a feeling it is coming soon.

Mady is super good at sitting upright, Casey is lucky to have found a good friend at such an early age to lend her a shoulder to lean on:)
