I Wish Everyday Could be Saturday

Dear Family,

I wish everyday could be Saturday. I get to sleep in with daddy, I get to hang out with my big sis, and mommy is always happy when everyone is home.

Casey's First Date

This past Thursday Casey had her first (play) date with a boy, baby Tommy my friend Karen's son. Tommy is a big 8 month old so he was ready to play but yet again all Casey wanted to do was sleep...she will get the hang of these play dates one day I am sure. In any case Paul was happy to hear Casey shows no interest in boys yet, I think he wishes he could say the same for Cheyne:)

1 Month Check Up

Last week we had Casey's 1 month check up with her doctor and we had to brave the pouring rain to get there so we bundled her up in about 5 layers...which made getting her undressed for he weigh in so much fun. Casey is doing great she weighed 10 pounds 3 ounces and measured 22 inches long. Casey loves her doctor, she was the happiest baby during her appointment (possibly due to being out of all the clothes I put her in)...we will see if her opinion changes next months when she gets her first shot.

Off to Grandma and Grandpa's House

One big downfall of having a winter baby is that it seems like everyone around is sick. We have been very careful trying to keep Casey away from illness and unfortunately my parents house got hit hard by a cold bug so we have not been able to go visit until this weekend. They were finally all better so I saddled Casey up for her first visit to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

However the half hour drive seems to put Casey into a comatose state where nothing can wake her. I tried bouncing her, moving her legs, and I even pulled out the big guns and changed her to no avail. She slept soundly for 3 hours...

and then woke up as soon as I strapped her in her car seat to leave.

Oh well better luck next time.

My Big One Month Old!

Casey turned 1 month today and we celebrated by having a play date with Madelyn Elizabeth who was born just 9 days before Casey. However there was not a lot of playing going on...she slept pretty much the entire time we were over there. Madelyn however woke up for their photo shoot and looked so cute.

When we got home Casey finally woke up and spent some quality time with dad.

I think she was trying to let him know she was hungry.

During her feeding she managed to drool all over herself so I got her into her pjs a bit early

and she was back out right away. I think she has been awake today for a total on 1 hour so I am guessing it is going to be a long night for me.

In any case happy 1 month birthday big girl.

Riley Stakes her Claim

Before Casey was born I was very a afraid how our dog Riley would react to the new addition. Aside from eating a few burp cloths she seems to be adjusting well and she especially likes all the soft blankets and new pillows that have shown up at the house.

The boppie pillow seems to be her favorite, I can't keep her out of it. She even tries to climb on and snuggle up while I am feeding Casey.

Big Sisters are the Best

Cheyne has been great with Casey, she loves being a big sister and Paul and I love the help. With a lot of reluctance she has started changing diapers, she helped feed her this weekend,


...and she even helps get her dressed :)
